Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to design BESS systems, manage budgets, and lead the electrical team on utility-scale projects. You will coordinate with clients, project managers, and internal leaders to ensure design quality and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities include leading electrical engineering tasks, preparing construction documents, and mentoring staff while guiding projects to meet client requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
• Knowledge of NEC, NESC, and utility interconnection requirements.
• Proficiency with electrical power system modeling software.
• 4–10 years of electrical engineering design experience in power generation, energy storage, substations, or distribution.
• Reading and developing construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience preparing proposals, managing project budgets, invoices, change orders, and coordinating data with stakeholders.
• Ability to use AutoCAD in a limited capacity.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design and construction document preparation for BESS projects.
• Coordinate with clients, utilities, system integrators, and code enforcement authorities.
• Supervise and mentor graduate engineers, staff engineers, and designers.
• Oversee electrical design budgets and change orders with project managers.
• Assist PMs in responding to RFPs with scope and fee estimates for electrical engineering services.
• Maintain firm standards and consistency across projects.
