Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Staff Engineer to support EV charging facilities and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, coordinating with the Project Lead and Senior Engineers to maintain firm standards and oversee interns, electrical designers, and drafters on the project.

The role involves electrical design and creation of construction documents, interconnection packages, and electrical calculations, with collaboration across disciplines and a focus on

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or Renewable Engineering.
• Knowledge of NEC requirements.
• Proficiency with power system modeling software.
• 2–6 years of design experience in electrical distribution, generation, or construction.
• Ability to read and create service/interconnection packages and construction drawings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team-oriented, self-motivated, and able to balance multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Support electrical engineering portions of EV charging facilities and energy storage projects.
• Review interconnection requirements and assemble service/interconnect applications.
• Coordinate with civil, geotechnical/structural engineers and surveyors.
• Create construction documents and electrical designs.
• Perform electrical calculations and studies (short circuit, load flow, voltage drop).
• Stay current with equipment and best practices.
• Collaborate with other offices on projects.
