Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to guide our Battery Energy Storage team. You will oversee electrical design, coordination with service leaders, and ensure adherence to firm standards across projects.

The role involves MV collection design, PCS/BMS/EMS integration, arc flash studies, ISO/RTO compliance, and supervising electrical staff. Strong leadership and knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and IEEE standards are essential.

Qualifications

Lead electrical engineering of commercial and utility-scale BESS projects.
Experience with design of MV collection systems and interconnection facilities.
Knowledge of NEC 706, NFPA 855, IEEE 1547, and related standards.
Ability to manage project budgets and change orders.
Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical drawings.
Strong written and verbal communication for client and internal teams.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical design budgets and ensure budgets are met.
Design MV collection systems, transformers, switchgear, and interconnection facilities for BESS.
Develop single‑line and three‑line diagrams, panel schedules, and protection drawings.
Coordinate PCS/BMS/EMS integration and system commissioning support.
Prepare proposals and scopes for electrical engineering work on projects.
Supervise and mentor engineers and designers across offices.
Coordinate interconnection studies and ISO/RTO compliance.
QA/QC of design work as lead electrical engineer.
