Job summary

Sundt Enterprise is seeking a Project Engineer II in Phoenix to serve as the technical source of information for the project, with deep knowledge of construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders.

The role supports responding to drawings, specs, shop drawings, and change orders, while maintaining professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers; may assist in supervising Field Engineers.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology and standards.
• Four-year construction-related degree or equivalent training with 3–4 years of related experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise Field Engineer positions if required.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan (PMP) components and change management process to ensure successful execution.
• Develop a procurement schedule and integrate with the project CPM schedule; coordinate submittals and review for compliance with contract documents.
• Understand prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and allowances; budget control and cost management within approved budget.
• Maintain "As-built" contract documents and compile close-out requirements (manuals, warranties, etc.).
• May participate in concrete form design and related equipment selection; participate in takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities.
• Plan, acquire, develop and supervise project team members to ensure relentless execution.
• Prepare quantity reporting mechanisms and minutes; maintain project logs and agendas.
• Prepare and review change orders (including time extensions) with owners and distribute to field personnel; adjust budgets as needed.
• Prevent claims, identify potential claims, quantify and mitigate effects promptly.
