Job summary

Sundt, a 100% employee-owned contractor, seeks a Project Engineer to serve as the technical information source on construction documents, subcontracts, and purchase orders. You will support coordination with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers, and may assist with Field Engineer supervision.

Position progresses through three steps (I, II, Senior) and requires 5+ years in electrical construction.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc.
• Four-year construction-related degree and 3–4 years of similar construction engineering experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to supervise a multi-discipline team.
• 5+ years of electrical construction project experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand the project management plan components (scope, procurement, environment, time, financial, quality, safety, risk).
• Develop a procurement schedule and integrate with the CPM schedule; procure material and equipment.
• Understand prime contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders; manage budgeting and cost control.
• Maintain As-built documents; compile close-out requirements including manuals, warranties and project items.
• Assist with concrete form design and takeoffs for concrete, asphalt, earthwork, and utilities as required.
• Plan, recruit, develop, and supervise project team members for relentless execution.
• Prepare and maintain quantity reporting mechanisms; coordinate agendas and meeting minutes; maintain logs.
• Review change orders; manage change order log; distribute documents to field personnel; adjust budgets as needed.
• Identify and prevent/mitigate potential claims; quantify and resolve effects of claims.
