Job summary

Uptime EV Charger Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer to own electrical design and application engineering across its configurable BESS platform.

You will translate a certified core into repeatable, code‑compliant, manufacturable variants and serve as the technical authority for customers, utilities, and AHJs. You will work closely with sales, business development, and manufacturing to drive product scope, quotes, and successful field deployment while ensuring design integrity and compliance with

Qualifications

• 5+ years of electrical design experience in power distribution with battery energy storage exposure.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage AC/DC distribution, protection coordination, grounding and bonding.
• Direct experience applying NEC, NFPA 855, UL 9540/9540A, IEEE 1547 to deployed systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and power-systems analysis software; able to produce production-ready designs.
• Experience from concept to prototype, certification, production release and field commissioning.
• Ability to communicate complex technical content to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain single-line diagrams, schematics, and BOMs for configurable BESS variants.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, voltage drop studies; specify protections and equipment.
• Size conductors, busbars, terminations, and DC isolation for each configuration envelope.
• Engineer electrical interfaces between BESS and EV charging equipment with various topologies.
• Adapt core design across form factors for trailer, skid, containerized and permanent sites.
• Define control/communication architecture (Modbus, CAN, DNP3, SunSpec, OCPP).
• Specify operating modes and protection schemes; support transfer and islanding logic.
• Support instrumentation, metering, sensing, alarms, and emergency circuits.
• Ensure compliance with UL 9540/9540A, UL 1973, UL 1741, NFPA/NESC and IEEE 1547 standards.
