Job summary

Coulomb Solutions Inc. in Livermore, CA is seeking a Sr Electrical Engineer to design, develop and validate medium‑voltage electrical systems for BESS and commercial EV platforms.

You will drive component design, integration and verification across inverters, transformers, wiring harnesses, chargers and power distribution equipment. The role requires 5+ years in MV electrical design or energy integration, a BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred), and hands‑on experience with UL standards,

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
• 5+ years MV electrical design or energy integration experience
• Knowledge of high-power electrical systems for mobile and stationary applications
• Experience with BESS, microgrids, and high-power vehicle charging systems
• Knowledge of MV safety standards (600-1000V)
• Experience with commercial EVs or mobile power systems
• Exposure to renewable energy systems
• Familiarity with UL certification processes (UL1973, UL9540A, UL508)
• Proficiency in electrical design tools and simulation platforms

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and validate MV electrical subsystems for EV and stationary energy solutions
• Specify and integrate components (inverters, converters, PDU, transformers, charging systems, battery modules)
• Ensure designs comply with UL standards and grid codes
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, thermal, and grounding analyses
• Prepare schematics, interface specs, wiring diagrams, test plans, and validation reports
• Support testing, commissioning, and field validation activities
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, and controls engineers, suppliers and customers
• Assist in cost estimation, BOM development, and trade-off analyses
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Maintain awareness of emerging energy technologies and standards
