Job summary
Ziegler Energy Solutions seeks a Senior Electrical Power Engineer to lead design and system integration across distributed generation and energy infrastructure projects. This role emphasizes practical field-ready engineering deliverables and deep expertise in BESS, Solar PV, and high‑capacity EV charging systems.
As the subject‑matter expert, you will support sales during scoping, guide project execution, coordinate with electrical contractors, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring NEC,
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited).
- PE license required.
- 4+ years LV/MV power distribution and DER integration.
- Experience with interconnection processes preferred.
- Knowledge of EV charging standards and load-management.
Responsibilities
- Develop complete electrical design packages for BESS, Solar PV, and EV charging infrastructure.
- Lead DCFC site design: load calculations, transformer sizing, distribution.
- Provide technical validation to Sales during pre-construction.
- Support PMs and field teams with RFIs and on-site design changes.
- Conduct protection and control studies for relay coordination.
- Integrate BESS/solar/EV into microgrid architectures.
- Perform short circuit, arc flash, load flow, grounding, and harmonics studies.
- Ensure NEC, NESC, IEEE compliance and interconnection inputs.
- Mentor staff and lead peer reviews.
