Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge engineering design and construction on major industrial projects. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and contractors to develop constructability insights and bid packages for on-site electrical work, with up to 50% travel across the U.S.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction, plus a bachelor’s degree in engineering and strong communication

Qualifications

• 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical design drawings for construction.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design/constructability concerns related to electrical scope.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from design and potential modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for sequencing and build-out.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages based on design for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for complete scope via work breakdown structure.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability impacts.
