Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge design and construction for major industrial projects. You will lead bid package development, assess constructability, and coordinate with internal teams and contractors to ensure complete scope coverage on site.

This role supports data center projects nationwide with up to 50% travel. Strong electrical knowledge, leadership, and project-management skills are essential for optimizing schedules and costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years experience in Electrical engineering or 15 years in construction management for industrial construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience, including certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve in-progress design and constructability concerns related to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify schedule and cost saving opportunities from existing design or modularization.
• Identify trade partners for early contractor engagement during design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope for construction sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and align with design and schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate across stakeholders for full construction work breakdown structure development.
• Assist with reviews of Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability and impacts.
