Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge design and construction for major industrial projects across the U.S. The role coordinates with internal teams and contractors to develop comprehensive electrical bid packages and optimize constructability and sequencing on site.

Expect 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in construction management, a B.E./B.S. in engineering, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience in Electrical engineering OR 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience.
• General understanding of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings/specifications for construction.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in resolving design/constructability issues.
• Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities.
• Engage trade partners early in design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope and sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and coordinate with design/schedule.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor award.
• Coordinate full work breakdown structure across stakeholders.
• Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability.
