Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge engineering design and construction on major industrial projects across the United States. The role emphasizes constructability input, design coordination, and early contractor engagement to optimize schedules and costs.

The position requires strong leadership, deep electrical knowledge, and proven experience in large-scale projects.

Qualifications

Minimum 8 years experience in electrical engineering or 15 years in industrial construction management.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with certified training.
Knowledge of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
Experience interpreting electrical design drawings for construction purposes.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead resolution of design and constructability issues and disputes.
Identify schedule and cost savings opportunities from existing designs or modularization.
Engage trade partners early in design phase for procurement planning.
Coordinate cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope with construction sequencing.
Assess risks for long lead activities and align with project schedules.
Develop and review construction bid packages based on design for contractor award.
Coordinate stakeholders to finalize full construction work breakdown structure.
Review Vendor Data Requirement submittals for constructability impacts.
