Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge design and construction on major industrial projects across the United States with travel up to 50%. You will guide constructability reviews, coordinate with internal teams and contractors, and help develop comprehensive bid packages for electrical work.

The role requires deep knowledge of electrical designs, construction means and standards, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive successful

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of electrical engineering experience or 15 years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with certified technical training.
• General understanding of construction-oriented means, methods, codes and standards.
• Experience interpreting electrical engineering design drawings and specifications for construction purposes.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance in resolving in-progress design and constructability concerns, discrepancies or disputes related to technical interpretation of engineering drawings and specifications.
• Identify opportunities for schedule and cost savings based on existing design or modularization capabilities.
• Identify trade partners to be involved in early contractor engagement through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope regarding construction sequencing and build-out.
• Identify risks for long lead construction activities and synchronize with design/construction schedules.
