Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Preconstruction Manager - Electrical to bridge design and construction on major industrial projects. The role supports Data Center projects across the United States with travel up to 50% and aims to optimize constructability and sequencing on site.

You will collaborate with internal teams and contractors to craft comprehensive bid packages, review constructability, and guide early contractor engagement to ensure full scope coverage.

Qualifications

• What you’ll need includes 8+ years in electrical engineering or 15+ years in industrial construction management.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent construction experience with training.
• Knowledge of construction means, methods, codes and standards.
• Ability to interpret electrical design drawings for construction needs.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to resolve design/constructability concerns and disputes.
• Identify schedule and cost savings from existing designs or modularization.
• Engage trade partners early through design phase.
• Organize cross-discipline evaluation of electrical scope and sequencing.
• Identify risks for long lead activities and align with schedules.
• Develop and review construction bid packages for contractor awards.
• Coordinate across stakeholders to define full WBS and scope.
• Review VDR submittals for constructability and impact.
