Job summary

Hoar Construction in Huntsville, AL seeks an Electrical Preconstruction Manager to lead conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating for electrical, low voltage, lighting, and related systems across large commercial/industrial projects. You will train and guide a team while coordinating with vendors, subcontractors, and owners during the preconstruction process.

The role requires 7+ years in pre-construction/estimating, a bachelor’s in building science/CM/ME or related field, and proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Building Science, Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience within a Pre-construction/Estimating environment on large projects.
• Advanced knowledge of construction cost estimating, value engineering, budgeting and scheduling.
• Proficient with MS Office, estimating software; BIM software and Trimble Enterprise experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform and train others to perform cost budgets for electrical, low voltage, lighting, fire alarm and distribution systems.
• Prepare scope sheets, estimate review, and presentation for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support budgeting for electrical systems and Value Optimization options.
• Communicate with manufacturers, vendors, GCs and owners to ensure accurate pricing.
• Review drawings for discrepancies and produce quantities using 2D/3D tools.
• Train and manage a team to provide budgets and iterative estimates as needed.
• Coordinate changes with subs, vendors and the HPM team.
