Job summary

HPM is seeking an Electrical Preconstruction Manager in Birmingham, AL to lead conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating for electrical, low voltage, lighting, and related systems. The role requires evaluating site distribution, overhead, lighting, transformers, and infrastructure, coordinating with teammates, and handling multiple concurrent projects.

Travel up to 10% may be involved; the ideal candidate has 7+ years in pre-construction and a strong background in cost estimation and BIM

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in pre-construction/estimating for large commercial or industrial projects.
Advanced knowledge of construction cost estimating, value engineering, budgeting, and scheduling.
Proficiency in MS Office and estimating software; familiarity with BIM tools and Trimble Enterprise preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform conceptual budgeting and detailed estimates for electrical, low voltage, lighting, and related systems.
Coordinate with project teams to forecast scope and pricing across multiple concurrent projects.
Train and manage a team of estimators; support multiple preconstruction managers.
Review drawings and plans for discrepancies and prepare quantity surveys.
