Job summary

WSP USA in Austin seeks a Vice President, Electrical Engineer Practice Leader to guide delivery of electrical building systems across commercial, healthcare, data centers, and mission-critical facilities. This is a senior leadership role focused on technical excellence, client trust, and growth in Central Texas.

You will mentor teams, oversee complex projects as Engineer of Record or technical reviewer, and drive a market-facing growth strategy.

Qualifications

• PE license required.
• 12+ years of progressive electrical design and project leadership experience.
• Experience managing large multidisciplinary building projects.
• Strong business development and client management experience.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and delivery of electrical building systems for complex projects.
• Lead, grow the Austin electrical team.
• Serve as Engineer of Record or technical reviewer with oversight for complex systems.
• Develop and execute a market-facing growth strategy for Central Texas.
• Support business development: client presentations, pursuits, proposals, and negotiations.
• Provide executive-level project leadership for scope, schedule, quality, and cost.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across disciplines.
• Build and develop a high-performing electrical engineering team with clear expectations and succession plans.
• Contribute to strategic planning, resource management and operations.
• Support recruiting and workforce planning initiatives.
• Promote innovation, resilience, sustainability and best practices.
