Job summary

WSP USA seeks an Assistant Vice President, Electrical Engineer in California to lead electrical design for large building projects and mentor cross‑functional teams. The role blends technical leadership, client engagement, and business development to grow the Property & Buildings practice.

You will guide projects from concept through construction, ensure code compliance, and build lasting client relationships while advancing safety and performance across education, industrial, and commercial

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• 10+ years of post-education experience as an Electrical Engineer.
• Extensive knowledge of electrical design for building projects, including education/institutional, industrial or commercial sectors and DS A-regulated projects.
• Strong understanding of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Experience leading teams and managing multiple projects with safe, high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, review, and approve electrical design plans ensuring code compliance.
• Apply advanced electrical engineering techniques across all project phases.
• Plan future-ready design strategies addressing safety, functionality, resiliency, and long-term performance.
• Support projects from inception through completion, including construction activities.
• Mentor cross-functional engineering teams on budgets, schedules, and quality control.
