Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join our team in a hybrid/remote arrangement. You will design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems for industrial clients, from concept through commissioning.

Responsibilities include lead design, project coordination, and mentorship, with travel about 10% to project sites. The position offers a competitive compensation package and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Minimum of 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial, utility, or consulting.
• Demonstrated experience designing or modifying medium- and low-voltage power systems.
• Hands-on modeling with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, EasyPower or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain power system models from field data and run load flow, short-circuit, protection coordination, and arc-flash studies.
• Develop protective relay settings and coordination for feeders, transformers, motors, generators, and buses.
• Design grounding systems per IEEE 80/81 and verify soil resistivity and touch/step potential.
• Produce design deliverables including diagrams, schematics, and interconnection diagrams.
• Lead electrical scope on projects and mentor junior engineers and designers.
