Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade medium- and low-voltage power distribution and generation systems for industrial energy clients.

The role covers concept through commissioning, leading electrical scope on projects and mentoring junior staff. We offer hybrid or remote work options in the United States and a salary range of $80,000 to $115,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years in electrical power systems engineering (industrial/utility/consulting).
• Experience designing/modifying MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV power distribution systems.
• Hands-on modeling in SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, EasyPower, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Build/maintain power system models from field data; perform load flow, short-circuit, coordination, arc flash, harmonic analyses.
• Develop protective relay settings and coordination for feeders, transformers, motors, gens, & bus protection.
• Design/upgrade MV and LV power distribution systems and equipment; prepare design and project deliverables.
• Review studies and reports; mentor engineers and designers; interface with clients, contractors, and vendors.
