Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade MV/LV power distribution and generation systems for industrial clients. You’ll lead on projects from concept through commissioning, mentoring junior staff and ensuring NEC/IEEE compliance.

Flexible on location: hybrid near an office or remote. You will perform power system studies, grounding, protection coordination, and equipment sizing, while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from ABET-accredited program.
Minimum of 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial, utility, or consulting.
Experience designing or modifying MV (1 kV–38 kV) and LV power distribution systems.
Hands-on modeling in SKM, ETAP, EasyPower or equivalents; build from field data.
Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards applicable to industrial power systems.
Ability to read one-line diagrams and relay/controls schematics.
Strong writing skills for reports and client deliverables.
Willingness to travel ~10% for field investigations.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical scope on moderate to large projects and set technical direction.
Coordinate with mechanical, civil, controls, and process disciplines.
Provide mentorship to engineers and designers.
Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors during reviews.
Perform field investigations and translate findings into design scope.
