Job summary

Lake Superior Consulting seeks an Electrical Power Engineer to design, analyze, and upgrade MV/LV power distribution and generation systems for industrial clients. You will lead electrical scope on projects, mentor engineers, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role supports hybrid or remote work, involves field involvement around travel, and offers a salary range of $80,000 to $115,000 per year with full benefits.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree
• Minimum 3 years of electrical power systems engineering experience in industrial, utility, or consulting
• Experience designing or modifying medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems (1 kV–38 kV)
• Hands-on modeling in SKM Power*Tools, ETAP, EasyPower or equivalent
• Knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards for industrial power systems
• Ability to read one-line diagrams, protection schematics, relay logic, and vendor drawings
• Willingness to travel ~10%

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical scope on moderate to large projects and define scope, hours, and schedule
• Develop and review electrical design deliverables (diagrams, schematics, wiring interconnections)
• Design and upgrade MV and LV power distribution systems and equipment
• Produce engineering basis documents (load lists, voltage drop calculations)
• Review vendor submittals and support procurement and commissioning
• Provide field support during energization, startup, and testing
