A leading engineering firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced Electrical Lead to oversee electrical design for water/wastewater projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in power distribution, client relations, and business development. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in electrical design, a bachelor's degree in engineering, and be capable of handling client consultations effectively. This position demands both leadership and a commitment to enhancing technical standards in electrical services.

About the job Electrical Lead - Water/Wastewater

The Opportunity

• Lead Electrical design for water/wastewater projects
• Provide technical guidance on client standards and expectations to engineering and technician staff in the regional design centers that are supporting project detailed design
• Serve as technical expert in electrical power distribution and miscellaneous plant electrical systems for client consultations
• Support business development related to enhanced Electrical services
• Build business relationships with clients to understand needs and driver

Additional Project Opportunities

• Studies Energy Optimization, Power System Coordination and Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, and Electrical Reliability Analysis
• Construction inspection and resolution of electrical construction issues
• Coordination with local electrical utilities on project technical needs
• Review of supplier submittals
• Act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams for I&C design
• Start up and testing of major electrical equipments

Preffered Qualifications

• Professional Engineers license
• 5+ years in electrical design, planning and construction services
• Consulting and Water/Wastewater experience preferred
• Experience in medium and low voltage power distribution equipment, including variable frequency drives and standby diesel generators
• Understanding of PLC hardware and software setup, network configuration, HMI, SCADA system, instrumentation and fiber optic cabling
• Experience in a client-facing/business development role
• Power system analysis experience in SKM, ETAP, or other analysis software a plus

Required Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing
• Minimum of 5 years related work experience
