Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World is seeking a Maintenance Front Line Leader – Electrical and Instrumentation for Prattville, Alabama.

The role leads a maintenance team in a large pulp and paper facility, driving safety, scheduling, and work execution. You will coordinate with operations and engineering, manage contractors, and mentor technicians to reduce downtime and improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related technical field preferred.
• Five (5) years of experience in pulp and paper - preferred.
• Applicable maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing environments will be considered.
• Knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, piping systems, and mechanical maintenance practices.
• Experience with maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management systems.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar CMMS systems preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, technical knowledge in operations and strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Coach, mentor, and develop mechanical maintenance personnel to improve skill capability and performance.
• Manage daily maintenance activities including staffing, scheduling, work prioritization, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate and communicate maintenance priorities with Operations, Reliability, Engineering, and other support teams.
• Drive effective work execution through the SAP notification and work order process.
• Participate in Maintenance Work Systems (MWS) activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop and execute daily and weekly maintenance schedules.
• Plan and oversee complex mechanical maintenance and outage work.
• Manage contractor resources and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
• Lead troubleshooting and root cause investigations for equipment failures.
• Support reliability improvements and initiatives focused on reducing unplanned downtime.
• Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement actions to improve results.
• Conduct employee performance reviews and support employee development planning.
• Promote employee engagement, accountability, and teamwork.
• Manage labor utilization, overtime, and timekeeping processes.
• Support housekeeping and 5S initiatives throughout the department
