Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an on-site Electrical & Instrumentation Project Manager to lead and manage E&I phases on industrial construction projects. You will build and guide an E&I team, drive safe, timely delivery, and profitability while coordinating with owners, engineers, and subcontractors.

The role requires 3+ years guiding large instrument and electrical builds, strong communication, and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience managing large instrument and electrical construction projects.
  • Proven success in management of construction projects.
  • Knowledge of all project plans, specifications, Owner Contract, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, drawings, submittals, and all other project related documents.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate set of as-built drawings.
  • Estimating experience, a plus.
  • Able to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities and groups of people who need to cooperate to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Self-motivated with skills to motivate others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site technical and administrative management for E&I phases on industrial construction projects.
  • Develop and manage an E&I team.
  • Assume overall responsibility for a profitable, well-constructed, safe project completed in a timely manner.
  • Review project proposals and pertinent documents with the project team and Director of Operations.
  • Determine cost-effective construction methods and manage personnel, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  • Review and approve subcontractor selections, invoicing, vendor payment applications, and miscellaneous invoices.
  • Coordinate construction activities with the owner, subcontractors, and company personnel.
  • Manage project staff, including support staff, superintendents, project general foremen, and assistants.
  • Promote, enforce, and establish safety as a priority.
  • Report project costs against budgets through weekly labor and monthly budget reports.
  • Coordinate budget estimating, purchasing, engineering, accounting, cost, and construction functions.
  • Maintain relationships with owners, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Organize and represent the company at project coordination meetings.
  • Negotiate, prepare, issue, and execute change orders and budget revisions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billings and accounts receivable.
  • Ensure timely project completion through scheduling, material expediting, and management of submittals and approvals.
  • Lead regular project staff meetings.
  • Manage the closeout process.
  • Adhere to company policies and processes.
  • Participate in internal continuous-improvement teams.

Requirements
