Job summary

SPX Technologies seeks an assembler for its Electric Heat division to assemble heater unit product codes and fabricate components per work order, blueprints, and engineering specs.

You will lay out wiring diagrams, drill and tap holes, attach breakers and connectors, and install thermostats. The role requires 1–3 months related experience, HS diploma, and ASME brazing certs; the environment is loud and physically demanding.

Qualifications

• One to three months related experience and/or training.
• Certified in ASME brazing procedures, BPS-B1, BPS-B2, BPS-B3, BPS-B4, BPS-B5
• High school diploma or GED
• Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration; noise level is usually very loud.

Responsibilities

• Lays out diagram for electrical installations according to wiring specifications.
• Drills and taps holes in specified locations for mounting control units.
• Attaches breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, and insulators.
• Paints product as necessary.
• Installs and wires Thermostats and other options.
• Fabricates bussing, and solders connections.
• Tests and adjusts electrical components.
• Discusses errors in diagrams or production order with supervision or engineering to clarify assembly problems.
