Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a hands-on Foreman to schedule, supervise, and lead a small work crew in Texas. You will ensure safety standards are met, coordinate training for apprentices, and maintain productive, high-quality output on job sites.

Strong leadership, communication, and scheduling skills are essential, as is a commitment to safety and regulatory compliance. The role requires working on-site in Texas, familiarity with OSHA regulations, and the ability to work with a diverse team

Qualifications

• Requires strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Familiar with OSHA safety regulations and company safety policies.
• Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Proven problem-solving and conflict-resolution capabilities.
• Ability to manage diverse teams and promote inclusive work environments.
• Strong planning and scheduling skills; handles administrative duties.
• Proficient with computers and related technology.
• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; OSHA-30 cert preferred or within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate a safe work culture and ensure crew compliance with safety standards.
• Lead and supervise a small work crew; interface with the superintendent and client as needed.
• Conduct toolbox talks and oversee task planning and priority setting.
• Coordinate on-the-job training and mentor apprentices with journeymen.
• Ensure production goals are met and reports are prepared timely.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping, logs, and quality reports.
• Inspect work, resolve issues, and adjust schedules to meet timelines.
• Support union requirements and safety program adherence.
