Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a field foreman to schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew on electrical/mechanical projects in Texas. You will ensure safety, productivity, and quality while maintaining daily logs and coordinating with the superintendent.

The role requires 5+ years of trades experience, a Texas Journeyman Electrical license, and OSHA knowledge. Employment is contingent on safety training, union membership, and performance under a local CBA where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must have strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
• Proficient in safety regulations (OSHA) and company policies.
• Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience managing tradespeople and helping develop production plans.
• Ability to handle administrative tasks and document daily activities.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, supervise and lead a small work crew.
• Ensure safety and productivity, and maintain safe working conditions.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and address safety questions.
• Participate in safety investigations and incident reviews.
• Maintain clean, safe, organized work area and proper logbooks.
• Orient new crew members and assess competency and training needs.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, and adjust schedules to meet production goals.
• Coordinate on-the-job training and mentoring for apprentices.
• Ensure work meets specifications and quality standards.
• Prepare reports and maintain timekeeping records.
