Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking a hands-on Foreman to schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew on construction projects in Texas. You will ensure safety, productivity, and quality by translating plans into daily tasks and mentoring junior workers.

You will conduct toolbox talks, manage safety reports, and maintain accurate records while meeting production goals and staying compliant with OSHA and union requirements. This role emphasizes leadership and on-site coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 5+ years’ experience as a qualified tradesperson.
• OSHA-30 certification within six months of hire (if not currently certified).
• Texas Electrical license may be required for work and supervision in this field.
• Active local union membership may be required.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, supervise, and lead a small work crew while ensuring safety and productivity.
• Conduct weekly toolbox talks and safety investigations as needed.
• Ensure crew adherence to safe working conditions and fitness for work daily.
• Prepare reports and maintain logs including timesheets and THA when required.
• Mentor apprentices and coordinate on-the-job training under journeymen guidance.
• Ensure plans/blueprints are followed and production goals are met.
• Identify material shortages and communicate needs to the superintendent.
