Job summary

Comfort Systems USA is seeking an experienced Foreman Electrician in Grand Rapids, MI to oversee a crew of Helpers, Apprentices, and Journeyman electricians on commercial/industrial installations and repairs. You will lead, train, mentor, and evaluate the crew while ensuring work quality and adherence to NEC and local guidelines.

The role requires 7–10 years of electrical construction experience and the ability to read blueprints and project specs.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical construction experience in commercial and/or industrial environments.
• Ability to lead, mentor and coach teams of five Helpers, Apprentices and Journeyman Electricians.
• Basic reading and understanding of blueprints, specs and schematics.
• Shows ability to communicate with other trades and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor Journeyman, Helpers and Apprentices on the job site.
• Work alongside crew and ensure quality of work to the highest standards.
• Assist in developing an effective manpower schedule for the team.
• Develop material lists from layouts and job site demands and communicate to supervision.
• Help achieve production and budget goals by guiding the team and conveying needs clearly.
• Ensure all work by crew complies with local and NEC guidelines.
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit on site.
• Install and terminate electrical devices and panels.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of circuitry and read project specs, blueprints, and schematics.
• Lay out small areas from electrical drawings and project documents; perform field layout with Trimble.
• Determine wire, conduit and junction box sizing; perform basic troubleshooting of lighting and power circuits.
