Job summary

CoVolt Power is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction estimating for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across the United States. This role is remote and requires coordinating with Business Development, Procurement, Preconstruction, and Operations to develop winning strategies from pursuit through execution.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of estimating experience supporting utility-scale energy, power, electrical, renewable energy, or heavy civil construction projects.
• Demonstrated experience estimating utility-scale solar and/or battery energy storage (BESS) projects.
• Experience developing detailed cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals.
• Strong understanding of EPC project delivery and preconstruction processes.
• Electrical takeoff experience and knowledge of major electrical systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects.
• Develop accurate and competitive project estimates utilizing self-perform and subcontractor pricing.
• Review RFPs, drawings, specifications, schedules, and design criteria to determine project scope and estimate requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and validate estimate assumptions.
• Develop and distribute subcontractor bid packages while driving competitive pricing strategies.
• Analyze historical project data and market trends to strengthen estimate accuracy.
• Manage and mentor supporting estimators throughout the pursuit process.
• Review, normalize, and evaluate subcontractor proposals and provide recommendation analyses.
• Prepare pricing proposals and supporting documentation for client submissions.
