Job summary

DEPCOM Power is hiring a Civil Estimator to develop detailed project estimates for solar and battery energy storage projects. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure estimates align with execution strategies and business objectives.

Ideal candidates have experience in heavy civil estimation, familiarity with InEight and takeoff tools, and a solid understanding of earthwork and site development. Remote work within the U.S. is an option.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy civil construction, estimating, construction management, and/or project management.
• Knowledge of cost estimating practices and estimating software such as InEight.
• Experience using takeoff software such as Bluebeam, AgTek, or similar tools.
• Understanding of earthwork, foundations, roads, drainage, and site development activities.
• Experience preparing or supporting project estimates for construction projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate, detailed project estimates for solar and battery energy storage projects.
• Collaborate with business development, engineering, and project delivery teams to prepare competitive estimates.
• Refine civil estimating processes and templates to improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain estimating tools, historical cost data, and productivity assumptions used to prepare estimates.
• Prepare project cost estimates aligned with RFP requirements for utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Identify project risks and support development of mitigation strategies.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, client discussions, and estimate review sessions.
• Conduct site visits as needed and document findings that improve estimate quality and project planning.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
