Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Medley, Florida, is seeking a senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical systems integration for executive aircraft seating and interior products, including actuation, lighting, and in-flight entertainment.

You will develop diagrams and wiring layouts, support certification with DO-178/DO-160 and ARP5526, mentor teams, coordinate with suppliers, and contribute to continuous improvement across programs.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years of experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years.
  • U.S. Person status required due to ITAR regulations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams on complex programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as electrical lead on seating programs from kickoff to completion, ensuring schedule and budget adherence.
  • Develop, integrate, and validate electrical systems (seat actuation, lighting, IFE).
  • Create and maintain system diagrams, wiring diagrams, harness drawings and installation plans.
  • Support technical documentation per aerospace standards and processes.
  • Lead design reviews and present solutions at milestones.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and quality teams for seamless integration.
  • Support certification with Airbus, Boeing, FAA, and EASA requirements.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain and external suppliers on components.
  • Participate in prototype builds, continuous improvement, and lifecycle support.
  • Perform testing and troubleshooting at components and full-seat levels.
  • Investigate issues, perform root-cause analysis, implement corrective actions.
