Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a leader in avionics and interiors, is seeking a senior electrical engineer to lead aircraft seating programs. The role focuses on electrical systems for executive seats, including actuation, lighting, and in-flight entertainment, with emphasis on certification and cross‑functional collaboration.

The position is onsite in Medley, Florida, offering growth within a globally recognized aerospace interiors team.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 5 years of experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
  • U.S. Person required – access to ITAR information or hardware.
  • Experience leading teams and cross‑functional engineering groups to meet objectives.
  • Experience with electrical system integration, validation, testing, troubleshooting, and RCA.
  • Familiarity with aerospace standards and tools like DO-178/DO-160 and ARP5526.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as electrical lead on aircraft seating programs from kickoff through completion.
  • Develop, integrate, and validate electrical systems including seat actuation, lighting, comfort, and IFE.
  • Create and maintain system block diagrams, wiring diagrams, harness drawings, and installation drawings.
  • Support certification activities to meet Airbus, Boeing, FAA, and EASA requirements.
  • Lead design reviews and present technical solutions during milestones.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on component selection, design reviews, and production readiness.
  • Participate in prototype and production seat builds and in continuous improvement activities.
  • Support testing and troubleshooting at component and full-seat levels; perform root-cause analysis.
