Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Akron, OH seeks an Engineering Intern to apply standard engineering techniques across market segments including Transmission & Distribution. You'll assist with design tasks, data entry, documentation and presentations while supporting lead engineers on diverse projects.

This role favors a minimum 3.0 GPA, active campus involvement, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and will join a team

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with standard design tasks, data entry, documentation and Power Point presentations.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and research solutions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
