Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking Engineering Interns to support standard engineering tasks and design updates. You will assist lead engineers and contribute to project duties within Transmission & Distribution.

The role offers exposure to multiple market segments and hands-on learning in a professional environment. Candidates should be pursuing an engineering degree with a strong GPA, prior internship experience, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program related to the department work.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus or community activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated with eagerness to grow in the field.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks applying standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Assist lead engineers with project duties and design updates.
• Contribute to design corrections and updates across markets.
• Support project work in Transmission & Distribution as assigned.
