Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Lexington, KY to assist lead engineers with design updates, data entry, and presentation prep across Transmission & Distribution projects.

The role requires enrolled students pursuing a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with strong GPA, good communication and analytical skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship is required.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a related post-secondary or technical program.
• Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience is a plus.
• Active campus/community involvement is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tasks requiring standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Support design updates and data entry for engineering systems.
• Help lead engineers with project duties and ad hoc assignments.
• Prepare presentations (PowerPoint) and documentation as needed.
• Analyze data and present practical solutions to project concerns.
