Job summary

WSP is actively seeking an ESSP Electrical Engineer for our Albuquerque, NM or Las Vegas, NV offices. You will contribute to the ESSP team, performing electrical studies, SCADA, protection work, and related design tasks across conventional and renewable generation facilities, substations, and transmission systems.

Responsibilities include protective relaying, planning studies, design analyses, and reporting. Travel to project sites may be required; relocation assistance is not indicated.

Qualifications

• BSEE, BSEET, or BSCE from an ABET-accredited university.
• 3–5 years of industry design or device configuration experience in electrical disciplines.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles, design/build, and permitting considerations.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies, SCADA, and protection tasks across projects.
• Contribute to protective relaying analyses, coordination, and relay settings calculations.
• Support power system planning studies including load-flow and stability analysis.
• Develop and review design studies for grounding, insulation, and power quality.
• Prepare technical reports and assist with field/worksite coordination.
