Job summary

Hanson Professional Services Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in medium- and high-voltage power systems in Florida.

The role requires PE licensure or the ability to obtain it within six months and focuses on renewable energy projects including solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, and microgrids. You will design, analyze, and deliver construction drawings and studies up to 200 kV, coordinate with civil and structural teams, and mentor junior engineers while traveling to client sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting with a focus on medium- and high-voltage power system design.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings, specifications, submittal reviews, and construction administration for power projects.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and high-voltage power distribution and management systems for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, BESS, EV charging, microgrids).
• Prepare specifications, calculations, drawings, and full construction packages for 15kV–200kV systems.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control per standards.
• Provide technical support to field personnel for HV systems up to 200kV.
• Perform electrical studies: short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, and relay coordination.
• Mentor engineering and design personnel within the Power Market team.
• Travel occasionally for client meetings and field reviews.
