Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, invites Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering students to join our co-op program across multiple U.S. locations starting January 2027 through Spring 2027.

You will gain hands-on experience in electrical design for building systems, learn AutoCAD and REVIT, and work with a collaborative team on real CMTA projects, with potential for future employment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year) or a junior (3rd year).
• Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to work full time throughout the co-op term.
• Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

• Learn and implement the electrical system basics such as power, power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm systems for new constructions and renovation design projects while supporting our engineering team
• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of electrical systems of buildings
• Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings
• May assist in the data collection and/or field verification
• Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project

Education
