Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern/Co-op for Summer 2027. This onsite, full-time role offers hands-on training in electrical design for building systems, mentored by professional engineers using AutoCAD and Revit.

The program may lead to full-time employment after graduation, with rotations across CMTA projects. You will learn to design electrical systems, produce layouts, and collaborate with the design team on complex MEP projects, gaining a strong foundation in

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior
Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering
AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work both independently and with a team
Ability to work full time in the Columbus office throughout the co-op term
Ability to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

Learn and implement the electrical system basics such as power, power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm systems for new constructions and renovation design projects while supporting our engineering team.
Produce detailed layout and equipment details of electrical systems of buildings
Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings
May assist in the data collection and/or field verification
Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
