Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, invites applications for a co-op in electrical design, offering hands-on experience on challenging MEP projects and collaboration with engineers. You will learn how to design and implement electrical systems and energy-efficient measures in building projects.

The ideal candidate is pursuing Electrical or Architectural Engineering, with interest in building systems, and familiarity with AutoCAD/REVIT.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore or junior.
• Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
• AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Learn and implement the electrical system basics such as power, power distribution, lighting & controls, fire alarm systems for new constructions and renovation design projects while supporting our engineering team
• Produce detailed layout and equipment details of electrical systems of buildings
• Produce one-line diagrams/schematics
• Assist the design team in the process of assembling organized sets of drawings
• May assist in the data collection and/or field verification
• Work in conjunction with designers and engineers to help develop all aspects of a project
