Job summary

CMTA, a Legence Company, offers a hands-on co-op in electrical design for students pursuing Electrical or Architectural Engineering. This full-time, onsite 40-hour weekly position runs from January 2027 through Spring 2027, with dates flexible to academic calendars.

Co-ops may rotate with CMTA and could lead to full-time employment after graduation. The role emphasizes learning electrical system design, producing layouts, one-line diagrams, and collaborating with a professional team on

Qualifications

Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering, preferably a sophomore (2nd year) or junior (3rd year).
Strong interest in Building Systems Electrical Engineering.
AutoCAD and REVIT experience preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Ability to work full time throughout the co-op term.
Able to travel locally for job site inspections, field work, etc.

Responsibilities

Learn and implement electrical system basics such as power, distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems for new or renovated projects.
Produce detailed layouts and equipment details of electrical systems for buildings.
Create one-line diagrams/schematics.
Assist the design team in assembling organized sets of drawings.
May assist in data collection and field verification.
Collaborate with designers and engineers to develop all project aspects.
