Job summary

Newport News Nuclear BWXT Los Alamos LLC seeks an Electrical Engineer for a mix of design and office work in Los Alamos, NM. You will assist with transformers, power and control panels, and VFD sizing while applying NEC standards on industrial electrical systems.

The Level 3/4 role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited school and 5–9 or 9 years of experience, with eligibility for security clearance and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5–9 years of related experience for Level 3/4.
• Experience with load flow, short circuit analysis, arc flash is a plus.
• Ability to obtain a DOE security clearance; US citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Design and size transformers, power panels, control panels and VFDs.
• Prepare system layouts, one-lines, wiring diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Apply industry codes and standards to electrical designs.
• Assist in field investigations and data collection; support reports.
• Learn and use SKM system analysis software; work under senior engineers.
