Job summary
Los Alamos National Laboratory is seeking a Nuclear Facilities Engineer to join the Engineering Services Division at LANL's Weapons Facilities Operations. The role focuses on electrical design for the WETF, applying DOE orders, safety requirements, and national consensus codes to ensure safe, reliable facility operations.
The position offers progression between Level 2 and Level 3, with responsibilities spanning technical leadership, design review, and coordination across multiple disciplines
Qualifications
- Broad engineering experience with electrical design for facilities/modifications.
- Knowledge of NEC/NFPA/IEEE codes and standards.
- Ability to mentor and lead less-experienced engineers.
Responsibilities
- Represent Engineering Services Division as a leader in project execution.
- Develops and approves conceptual and detailed designs to ensure code-compliance.
- Assess condition of existing facilities and infrastructure systems.
- Apply engineering judgement to engineering challenges.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for customers.
- Lead design projects internally and externally.
- Produce high-level design deliverables.
- Adhere to LANL's Engineering Standards and Conduct of Engineering.
