Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) seeks an Electrical Engineer to join the Signal Electronics and Embedded Systems team in Rancho Bernardo. Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline with progressive engineering experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
• Experience in digital circuit design; embedded controls; HDL synthesis/analysis; Zynq MPSoC with Vivado.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with GA-EMS engineers and chief engineers to design, prototype, test high‑power processing solutions across product lines.
• Independently develop designs, techniques, and solutions for complex engineering challenges.
• Improve legacy systems while developing new hardware solutions.
• Generate electrical architectures, perform analyses, document results, and present findings to staff and management.
• May lead projects and guide junior staff in technical efforts across product areas.
• Plan and coordinate solution development, documentation, and presentations to ensure project viability.
• Communicate with teams and management throughout solution lifecycles.
• Represent GA-EMS as a prime technical contact on projects.
• Perform additional duties as required.
