Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in Rancho Bernardo seeks an Electrical Engineering Manager to lead our Electrical Technologies team. You will guide high‑power power systems, HEL tech, space sensors and related electronics across product lines with 80% technical leadership and 20% management.

You will coordinate design concepts, schedules and budgets, mentor staff, and serve as a primary technical contact for contracts and external partners.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor, Masters or PhD in engineering or a related technical field with 11+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
• Extensive experience in mixed-signal circuit design, power systems, and hardware development.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and technically lead an engineering unit through all project phases.
• Develop and implement technical, schedule, quality and budget objectives with management.
• Lead design, integration, test of power systems and controls for multiple product lines.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and customers on technical matters and problems.
• Represent the organization as a prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
