Job summary

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) in the San Diego area seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer to advance embedded systems and laser/space electronics. You will design, analyze, and prototype high‑power processing solutions, lead technical reviews, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced R&D environment.

The role requires deep expertise in C/C++, VHDL, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and Xilinx tools, plus DoD security clearance.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Security Clearance required.
• Experience in embedded systems, software and controls for hardware systems (RF/optical).
• Proven ability to lead design through development to production.
• Ability to present technical results to management and customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and prototype high‑power processing solutions across product lines.
• Architect electrical systems, analyze circuits, and document findings.
• Lead or advise project teams in electro‑optics, laser control, or space electronics.
• Coordinate schedules, reviews, and technical presentations for stakeholders.
