HDR is seeking an engineer to advance grid-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from concept through construction. You will work with a multidisciplinary HDR team to craft electrical layouts, develop specifications, and support procurement and construction efforts on diverse storage deployments.

You will evaluate storage technologies, prepare detailed designs and cost estimates, and communicate complex concepts to clients and stakeholders across disciplines.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or higher is required.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board is required (PE, P.Eng).
• Previous experience in project execution within the Power Market Sector.
• Proficiency with Power Market Sector design software (PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, Revit).
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture is expected.

Mansioni

• Support grid scale BESS projects by developing conceptual layouts and one-line diagrams and supporting construction design packages.
• Evaluate energy storage technologies and support vendor selection and implementation.
• Develop and review engineering design plans, technical specs, cost estimates, and construction documents at design milestones for BESS projects.
• Assist developers, utilities, and clients with identifying use-cases for battery energy storage systems in centralized and distributed locations.
• Prepare written technical reports conveying BESS concepts, use-cases, and feasibility results to diverse audiences.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, FLS, high-voltage electrical, SCADA, water, and geotechnical engineers to develop complete construction design packages.
• Participate in design reviews with stakeholders and permitting agencies.
• Contribute to internal design guidelines, catalogs, and templates for power generation projects.
• Provide QA/QC on the work of other engineers, designers, or technicians.
• Support construction phase activities including RFI, submittals, CPRs and change orders.
