Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking an electrical engineer to advance battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects across multiple sites. You will develop conceptual layouts, one-line diagrams, and construction packages and collaborate with a wide range of engineering disciplines.

You will evaluate storage technologies, assist clients with vendor selection, and contribute to detailed design, specifications, and cost estimates while maintaining schedule integrity and quality across fast-paced projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Requires PE (or equivalent) license.
• Experience in power projects and engineering software.

Responsibilities

• Support grid scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects from concept to construction packages.
• Evaluate energy storage technologies, vendors, and support system integration.
• Develop and review design plans, specs, cost estimates, and construction documents at milestones.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, fire & life safety, electrical, SCADA/telecom, water, and geotechnical engineers.
• Prepare technical reports conveying BESS concepts, use-cases, and feasibility results.
• Participate in design reviews with stakeholders and agencies.
• Support updates to internal design guidelines and templates.
